ANA trade based of Pagnotta's report on the Jack Johnson market. Might not be correct compensation but I imagine it would be a trade with no cap coming back.
BUF trade because Jarry was a Randy Sexton / Botterill prospect and can get consistent playing time since he is better than Hammond. Penguins get a 2nd rounder back but also trade their 3rd & 4th with Jarry to move up.
SIGNINGS:
ZAR has filed for arbitration, doesn't mean that it gets that far but I can see the difference being a 1-way contract vs a 2-way contract. 2-way would give the Pens flexibility with the forwards and salary cap. Based on ZAR performance/games played, I don't see him getting more than Blake Coleman got last year, who is a more productive player. I subtrated aout ~$500k from Coleman's contract. I don't know what he deserves since he has dealt with injuries, and I don't think they will sign him to scratch him, but I also wanted to make this as keeping Rust as a focal point, and all other players are better right now.
Sounds like they would like to lock up Pettersson long term. I don't see the Penguins handing out anymore 5+ year contracts (I have been wrong on this, multiple times..) So I assumed just under $8m over 4 years. This could probably be raised a bit, I am okay with his signing either way.
Blueger & Johnson would be good, cost controlled, 2-way contracted players. Can move up and down from WBS as needed. Both brought speed and pretty intelligent hockey to the lineup. Give Teddy a chance at 4C!
SYNOPSIS:
I am still not 100% confident in this Dcore, even without Jack Johnson playing top4 minutes. I think they will need to acquire a LD at some point, but I would be comfortable starting this team in October. I have never seen a team with so much flexibility, which will be interesting. Galchenyuk, McCann, Kahun, even Guentzel can play C, all wingers with the exception of Horny can play either side. I like the flexibility, but I worry that Sullivan will scramble the lines every other game, like we have seen before. Find who plays well with each other, and build from there.
Simon-Bjugstad-Hornqvist was a great line at the end of last season, probably even our best line rolled out. Keep them together, let McCann play with Sid & Jake, and Let Kahun, Galchenyuk and Rust figure out Geno's line.
I worry about Riikola, even though he held his own last season. See how he responds and if he has struggles, Ruhwedel is serviceable until they shop for a new LD.
No you aren't. Actual hockey people know that he is an everyday NHL defenseman. Tards like you and most people on here are too sense to know what's going on.

I would assume so myself, as I was surprised to even hear that teams had interest in acquiring him. The one thing that stands out is that Pagnotta said that there is a market for JJ, which means a team might make a bigger mistake than another to get what they want (even if that is Jack MFn Johnson..) Never underestimate stupid GMs! I know I am learning not to underestimate mine..
But in all reality, I would be okay offering up a higher pick with JJ for a lower pick in return. It makes sense to me, I would just hate to lose an actual player off the team to unload him.

Johnson would play very well on a physical and grit based team like the Ducks. The Penguins speed and possession game doesn’t suit him and that’s why he is struggling.

Hey, look at this. Someone who isn't a complete dum dum.

On top of that, I still don’t want to see JJ on the ice for the Pens next season. He just doesn’t fit, P.O. Joseph would do much better with his skill and skating.

Would like to see POJ play, but i think the verdict is that he needs to put on weight and get another season under his belt in the A. Worth a shot, IMO, but don't see him being the solution in '18-'19
Never heard of him. I only started watching hockey this February.
I see. He was a puck moving defenseman who played on the Penguins second pairing in 2015-16 and 2016-17. With him, Letang and Schultz, the Penguins blue line was really mobile and dominated other teams.

Oh. Based on some of the things I read on this site the only reason they won back then was because they didn't have Jack Johnson on their team.
I have been speaking to a lot of girls in the Leafs fan base about Marner’s situation. They all told me that if they were the Leafs’ GM, they would keep Nylander (6 years 7 million AAV) and get rid of Marner (~5 years, 10.5 million AAV) at all costs. They believe Nylander is more worth keeping because his on ice performances are consistent therefore he can easily justify the salary he is making. Plus, he is more hard working, committed and loyal to the team as he would sacrifice anything to ensure the Leafs succeed whereas Marner is selfish, lazy and greedy. They think ability wise that Marner is in the same category as Nylander, therefore there is no reason for Mitch to demand so much more money than Willy. What’d you think?

You've been posting this too much. Come up with a new one.
I like your moves and reasoning behind the moves. Rust is very valuable to this team, he can play either wing and can shuffle up and down pretty much any line.
Personally, I would love to see a top 6 of Guentzel-Crosby-Kahun and Galchenyuk-Malkin-Rust. That top line is very intelligent and quick, and Geno's line has Rust to be defensively responsible.
I did see Simon-Bjugstad-Horny have some absurd 70% CF towards the end of the season, but they hardly cashed in. I think McCann on that line adds some more finish. I'm a big Simon defender, I know what he brings CF wise and defensively, but him on the 4th with Blueger and Tanev (ugh, rather ZAR for $2M cheaper) looks like a great 4th line.
Still need to add more to that JJ trade I would think, but I would try a future 2nd and/or 3rd to try and get rid of him. Last resort would be including the 1st rounder.
Still, one of the best realistic teams I've seen assembled on here!
