Shattenkirk has 2 years remaining. Retaining 1.65 each season in my proposal to have him at 5m per for Nashville. Shattenkirk also has a modified NTC so who knows if he would even accept. Looks like letting Granlund or Smith walk alone would free up enough cash for Josi.
Keep hearing different stories about how willing Vegas is to move Gusev. Sounds like they’re not close on salary and they’re still up against the cap even when Clarkson goes on LTIR. Reeves making 2.75 hurts them.
I like Lemieux as well and doubt he’d be a consistent scratch. Strome and Fast also candidates to be moved out as they’re on expiring deals. Could also start Andersson and/or Howden in Hartford if they don’t have good camps. Lemieux wasn’t prepared to play increased minutes when he came over last season so he’s kind of under the microscope going into camp. They like his game but want to see more from him or he may fall out of favor quickly. He’s at most a 3rd liner, though.

I think it might be an overpay if anything on Gusev especially taking back that awful Reaves contract. 3rd pair is not playoff built for Nashville and asking a lot of fabbro as a rookie. They will have plenty of space next year to extend Kreider and handle shattenkirks salary plus the Josi extension. Lemieux will get his shot but he has to reign in the extracurriculars if he starts taking dumb penalties
