Why does everyone think Marner is getting 11 or more million. I don’t see any offer sheets . He is 10 million max. Maybe not for term but 10 million is all he is getting on a 5 or 6 year deal

Commenting specifically on AAV for the 2 yr term...I think it's in the ballpark.

Lot of people on here seem to think contracts get negotiatied within an Excel spreadsheet of stats and comparables.

The player/agent doesn't need to justify why they are demanding "$x"...they can simply demand it and start the negotiations there. I have a feeling Marner gets signed before the end of this week. Dubas has done a good job of clearing out cap space and is probably trying to see how much term he can get on a deal right now. Won't be surprised to see $$ close to but less than Matthews but on a longer term
