it's a bad move for boston.

4 years of 1sts on a team where the best center is 34 years old isn't the smartest decision.
This is an aging team. You are just playing with fire because when it ages out the fall will be quick.

They’ve drafted a ton of centers, probably their 2nd deepest position next to LHD. Not saying I would give up 4 first for Marner but aging centers wouldn’t be the deal breaker for me

Then there are Facts. Where you don't have a single center in your organization development pool capable of being a 1C.
Like I said, this is an aging team. The window is closing out on them. It's ok, all good teams have it happen. But coughing up 4 1st round picks when that's happening is a bad decision. Because Marner alone is not going to keep the team a float and those draft picks will be rather high when the wheels come off.

I know it’s a bad decision. I just said the center thing isn’t an issue for me.

Btw Studnicka absolutely has 1C potential.

Anyways, not fair to say (besides stud who most likely will be) none of them have 1C potential. Bergeron and Krejci were 2nd round picks.

If you wanna go even further, Marchand was a 3rd, pastrnak late first, krug and UDFA. Bruins have built almost their whole core by hitting on unknown guys. They have great player development.

yeah drafting a ton of centers and having anyone of quality is the difference.
If you want to keep telling yourself players like Forsbacka Karlsson are going to be 1C players good luck to you.

There isn't a single 1C in your prospect pool. Not a one.

Studnicka is easily 1C potential. Frederic JFK and Beecher are middle 6 guys.

But anyways, how do you know that? Bergeron and Krejci were 2nd round picks. Marchand was a 3rd. Krug UDFA. Bruins are great at finding and developing talent.

yeah sure thing, in your mind Studnicka is a 1C.
Bergeron might have been a 2nd round pick. But he was playing NHL minutes at 18.
You keep arguing about a guy who's 20 who is going to play in the AHL is the same quality.

Good luck with that.

Studnicka is absolutely 1C potential. Literally ask anybody who knows him. It’s not just my mind. They almost put him at 3C when he was 18 but elected to let him develop in juniors Instead. And he absolutely tore it up. Played a few AHL games too and was clearly the best player on the ice by far.

Marchand didn’t make the NHL until he was 22.
Krejci wasn’t an NHL regular until 21.
Krug wasn’t a regular until 22.

Besides Studnicka who at the very least I think will be a top 6 forward, I’m not over here saying these guys are sure things to be NHL regulars. I’m just telling you it’s very ignorant of you to write these guys off and not even give them a chance, especially since the bruins core for the last 5-10 years is almost entirely 2nd round or later picks who didn’t make the NHL until after they were 21.
