Zaitsev Rumoured to Ottawa (he has Ottawa on his no trade list, so that's something to keep in mind)

Cody Ceci Rumoured back. Not sure what his signing value would be.

this package is just what I would like to see in this situation. ( I want DeMelo, even only if it's for a year. Stop gap on RHD and hope for resign)

**I just looked and it seems like the 2.75m a year for 2 years for Ceci is unrealistic. 4M+ it seems like unfortunately... Which pushes the team over the cap unless Dermott or Hyman somehow make it on LTIR**

I think the Leafs would either flip Ceci, or just not sign him. Easy way to get out of Zaitsev's deal from a Leafs perspective.

Hence why he wasn't just a throw in. Leafs add Connor Brown who got 20 goals as a rookie. Last year was less because the team was stacked up front. And a 2nd. Maybe the leafs need to add more.

I was looking at the trade as Ceci for Zaitsev and the picks.

Then Melo for Brown, which I would not do. RHD who can play top 4 are worth way more than bottom six wingers.

I feel like they’re gonna be involved in trying to sign Ben Hutton but I think it’s pretty obvious that he’s getting rid of Zaitsev to sign Marner to a contract he wants

He’s already been sent a qualifying offer so he won’t make less than 4.3 for 1 year
