Marner wants to be traded. He feels disrespected. How can the Leafs pay Matthews so much, and bring in Tavares right behind him making so much money. The NHL cannot support 3 max contracts like the NBA.
You have twice as many players to feed on an NHL team and cap. Marner is motivated solely by money.
