Presumably Holzer wouldn’t accept less than this without taking his game back to the DEL where he could be a star, to be certain. He made $900,000 last season so it’s actually a small reduction. Given he played all of 22 games one could argue its not enough. But really it’s inconsequential. If they like what he brings when he plays and his presence in the locker room (and press box) then there’s intrinsic value there. Holzer has kicked around the AHL & NHL for a decade now but has spent it exclusively with 2 teams. Rather unusual for a tweener.
