Pass on that EDM trade. Boqvist is looking good. It was his first year playing on smaller ice in North America and he was great. Considering that he left Hawks camp and had something like 1 skate with the team before being tossed into games...it's not a surprise that his 1st 10 games he only had like 4 points.

Everyone is saying Bowen is a better more complete dman then anyone in the Hawks system . You have to give to get . Hawks will be overloaded on D if they take Bowen keep in mind KEITH AND SEABS have NMC and have 4 and 5 yrs left on there contracts . I am trading the Hawks best prospect , i get it but your getting a high pick which will fill a position of need ( center or wing ) with a quality prospect . Edmonton fills out a position of great need as well it makes sense for them . A year from now they have BOUCHARD, KLEFBOM ,LARSSON , BOQVIST ON DEFENCE .

Also if COLLITON can resurrect PULJIJARVIS career its a big plus . Perlini will top out as a speedy 20 to 30 goal scorer with size , if he plays with Macdavid or DRAISAITL he could be a solid top 6 winger . A change of scenery for Puliljarvi might do the same for him . If the hawks draft one of cozens , caufield , krebs , zegras they will have great depth youth and talent going forward . I think its a win win . Hawks future d still looks good . BOWEN - JOKI , MURPHY , MAATTA , KEITH , SEABS , BEUADIN , MITCHELL , KHRYS , CARLSSON , HILLMAN

Minor technicality but it's Bouchard, not Dobson which will actually be better for EDM since Boqvist played with Bouchard quite a bit last year. I'm ok with having that many Dmen. Just look at the premium Dmen are getting right now. With that said, I'd probably consider a different package that included Ian Mitchell...EDM native that arguably played better than Bouchard at world juniors.

I'm all for getting the #8 pick. Getting Both a D prospect and a center prospect is huge, but I'm just not willing to give up last years #8...which IDK if you remember, but Boqvist actually FELL to #8. he was ranking higher by most people. His offensive upside is undeniable.
