I don't love this... Think Kadri has quite a bit more value than cizikas, albeit I love cizikas' game. Kapanen for Mayfield seems like a close to fair swap IMO. need a sweetner on NYI side

Cizikas isn’t going anywhere, he’s a Trotz favorite. And from an Isles perspective, is much more valuable to them than getting Kadri.

Why? they play similar styles. Cizikas a little more physical Kadri more goal scoring, but similar players. Trotz would love Kadri

I love Zeek too, but lets sell high on him. Barzal, Nelson, Kadri and Boyle is much better looking down the middle....

I’m sure he would, but not at the cost of Cizikas. I’m not saying Kadri isn’t an improvement, but I just don’t see the Isles trading Casey to bring in Kadri. If they really wanted to, they could promote Cizikas to 3C and let someone like Fritz be the 4C next year.

I'm glad you like Cizikas and want to keep him because I don't think that this trade is close in value. Kapanen for Mayfield is roughly even and Kadri is a top-6 forward whereas Cizikas isn't (which isn't saying that anyone wouldn't love to have him on their team). Kadri, Kapanen and a third for Mayfield and this year's first is fair, and you get to keep Cizikas.

My opinion only here, but I think Trotz has only begun to tap into Casey’s potential. Casey playing on the 4th line, put up 11 less points than Kadri last year... why not just promote Casey to 3C and see what he can do, before shipping him off for someone really not that much better.

A 2nd pairing, young, cheap RHD and a 1st, for a borderline 2nd line winger, a 3C (that’s where he will play for us) and a 3rd?? No thanks. Leafs need to move these players to clear CAP, Mayfield for Kapanen is fair... Kadri isn’t worth a 1st round pick.

Mayfield and a 2020 2nd for Kapanen and Kadri could work though.
