Rfa Signings:
-Johnsson goes to arbitration and is awarded a 1 year deal as he has only played 1 year in the nhl.
-Kapanen gets a good bridge deal which could easily get flipped for the right dman
-The marner contract I could see going this way, marner wants 12, the leafs want him at 9/9.5 marner uses the offer sheet to raise up his price. The leafs only match an offersheet if the compensation is less than 4 first. If they match they seriously consider trading him

Ufa signings:
-Jordie Benn gets a 1 year deal to be a more physical presence who plays limited minutes and some pk time
-Reimer signing is only if he gets bought out. He can still play 25+ games which is exactly what they need

Trades:
- after seeing the gudas for niskanen deal, I feel like this could happen. Two right handed defensmen with similar cap hits. A rental with retained salary for one who has more term. Yes tanev is better which is why the pick is there(maybe a conditional pick for if tanev resigns/plays a certain amount of time).
-Arizona takes on Marleau at 4mill with bracco for nothing. Maybe more retention or an extra asset from Toronto's side
-sparks needs to go to create space for an actual backup
- The Vegas deal is a purely a cap deal. Vegas gets the lesser player, but a player who is locked up for cheap (2 years at 750k) and is ready for nhl action. The leafs get the better player because they take on the extra salary.
-Lastly trading connor brown, one of my favorite player, for a 3rd to a team that wants him.
