Marleau is gone. For all we know there may already be a deal in place. Just waiting for July 1st to see where.

Agree, was just trying to show we don't HAVE to move him to survive... What do you think of the moves? Am I out to lunch, or are they close?

The Minnesota Trade seems like a lot to give up IMO. The other two trades are okay.

Here's hoping jumbo takes a hometown discount to reunite with marleau and play close to home. Joe's" hometown" is now San Jose as is Marleau's. Now if they somehow can car pool together to the Sharks's arena, what a blessing for the Leafs.
Alymer is closer to Detroit even Buffalo than Toronto.

I don't see the logic of the Vancouver trade. They want to upgrade their RD, so they trade a RD man? It's extremely unlikely Toronto is moving Zaitsev for another RD to play in their top 4. More likely it's picks that you have to move to acquire somebody. How often do teams trade two players, one for one, at the same position?

Joe is from St. Thomas (was my close to home reasoning) Also, Aylmer is closer to Toronto than they are to Buffalo and Detroit, Just saying.....

Extra term on zaits deal? GIves them more security long term?

Thanks for the correction. I know driving down to Kingsville an Leamington quite often, I would see the Home of Joe Thornton sign.

Maybe, but I think that's a bit of a reach. I just think that trade is extremely unlikely, and you didn't answer my question. How often do teams trade players one-for-one at the same position?
