It's been said here before but trading Ehlers for RNH isn't a good idea, losing way too much term and doubtful Edmonton is doing that trade, they need to add a top 6 forward without losing one.

Well, Ray Shero has been quoted as saying he's looking for a true Shutdown defenseman... They have the second most cap space in the NHL... And 5 draft picks in the 2nd and third round... Not to mention, first overall. If it comes down to which team offers the Jets the best trade package... This one makes a lot of sense.

If I'm the Oilers and I see a chance to lock up a winger with McDavid speed for the next 6 years, for the price of my third best center... I'm doing it... The problem is giving up severson. NJ is thin on the right side and while Trouba is a need so is Severson.
We have a lot of active o minded defenders. Trading Sevs for a much better version of him basically.
