Trouba deal would require closer to 7M per IMO, and Winnipeg is probably in a position right now where they are looking for "win now" players. At the very least, we'd probably need to take on Kulikov contract too (which would be fine)

NHL GMs are looking at 5yrs left on Zaitsevs contract as plus for cost control and I dont blame them since some stupid contracts like Lindell were signed for 125% of what Zaitsev makes.. I would offer you Zaitsev and 4th for Tanev with retention. Would you take it? You should because you will win that trade.

What!? Tanev is still a top 4 guy who had 1 year on his contract. Zaitsev’s a contolable asset sure, but he has negative value. His contract is far too long on a bad cap hit for a #5 dman. Ridiculous to think zaitsev has close to Tanev value.
