An overpayment for Trouba.

don't see all the hype around these Trouba rumours. He's a #3 guy on a good team, not a top pairing and that seems like an overpayment.

Then for Zaitsev you turn around and basically give him away? Honka is a borderline bust. He's far away from regular NHL minutes and even further away from NHL minutes under Babcock. Toronto can get someone useful in a Zaitsev trade.

Can also see Toronto getting a bit more for Brown because of all the reported interest in him. More teams involved drives the price up for him

You are right he likely wouldn't sign. I would do that trade as a Leaf fan if Roslovic is going to be as good as expected. I would want the 1st round pick or even both picks taken out of the deal.

I agree that to move Marleau without including a good prospect or 1st round pick you have to eat salary. Would be nice if it wasn't 50% but that might be what it takes.

Trouba is a top pair guy with no doubts. Plays 22min a night easily on a deeper rhd team than Toronto. Great defensive game and can play the other way just as well. At bare minimum this stops him from hitting Matthews lol.

Rosolvic has value too, yes only 9 goals and 24 points but did that playing under 10min per game. Think he is talented and would fit into the roster well.

The zaitsev Trade wasn’t really the point here but rather taking no money back. Personally I think we could get more back but we will have to wait and see.

Either way it is an unreasonable agm because trouba won’t sign here. Think it’s doing a service to all leafs fans to show that some of us are willing to make fair offers rather than posting Kadri for trouba rumours.
