Although the Oiler trade might be fair, the other two trades give a lot of unneeded salary to other two teams. Doubt if Avs and CBJ would agree.

Desharnais salary isn't that bad 3.5 mil with just 1 year left. He dies produce points. MTL just needs the space. I have heard guys on the radio suggesting the Jackets as a fit so that's why I chose them.

As for Emelin. Yeah 2 years 4.1 is more than he is worth IMO too. But For some reason not everyone agrees with me and actually thinks this guy doesn't suck. Some people believe he is a valuable stay at home hard hitting #4 defencemen (I don't). But the Avs have cap space, apparently need more D. Also Roy has been complimentray of Emelin in the past back when he made apperances on L'Anti Chambre.

It's a stretch I know. But like I said in the discription. Wishful thibking.

I don't think DD is impossible to trade. he really isn't as bad as some believe. Just expecting not to have to retain salary, get draft picks and no other player coming our way in return is not realistic. The best we can hope for is someone else's "Desharnais" or a player with a lot less cap but way worse than DD in return. Same goes for Emelin, he's not untradable but see DD explanation.

Personally if that's the cost to move up to 4th, i don't make it. I'm perfectly happy selecting the plethora of good players to choose from at 9th.
