Description
Panarin, Duchene, Bobrovsky and Dzingle all walk.

This leaves us with about 32,652,500 of cap room, with out they cap increasing, for next year to get Anderson, PLD, Haula, and others resigned, plus gives us the ability to go after a big name in free agency.

My thought on the trades,

Turris and Wennberg both need a fresh start, Wennberg is younger and on a smaller cap hit, added the prospect to make it even due to Wennberg have 2 bad season to Turris only 1 and parts of the year before.

VGK trade is that Reaves and Holden are kinda cap dumps and Haula is a bit better then Jenner but Vegas needs cap room to moving 7+ mil and getting a good 3rd line center back and just under 4 helps them.

Callahan waives because he gets to play for torts again, the coach he had his best years with in New York.

Montreal would probably agree because Murray hasn’t played more then 60 games in a season before and I’d be shocked if he did next year.

Edmonton needs wings and cap room, they get both by moving ganger but it could easily be a 3rd.

Sometimes to go forwards you have to take a step back. This way we can get a higher 1st in 2020 maybe (hopefully get the 1st oa pick), lose no one important and gain draft picks that we lost going for it this year. So in the long run this very much helps the team improve.

I can see that with a couple, but the Vegas one i think hurts long term. Boone is a major piece of the core of the team. Trading him for cap dumps would severely affect the room.

I also don't think CBJ are necessarily a shoe in to be terrible next year. Elvis will be good. Still have some really good players and young guys eager to prove themselves. I'd rather shoot for the playoffs again rather than trying to tank and ending up with pick 8-10 and turning back into the 2000's Jackets

Haula is better then Jenner and if Turris continues to struggle then Haula can play second line center. Merzlikins will be good but I’d tend to think he'll struggle to start due to the fact that we play on different ice and that throws off a goalie angles and positioning due to the other spots on the ice. Samsanov (who’s considered to be one of the best goalies coming over in recent years really struggled at the start of the year. Give this team a few years and they’ll be right back to where the are now.

I agree on all but the Jenner/Haula part. He had one good year when the entire team played out of their minds, then was hurt this whole season, and is a UFA after next year.

Not bad. I would like to see some of the trades above before 2019 draft and some 2019 draft picks coming in rather than all of them being 2020 picks.
