It's definitely interesting, but I just can't justify it. Chabot is a legit 1D, and he's only 22. You just don't trade that. Sens are also deeper (relatively speaking) at centre than on the blueline. They're nothing special down the middle, but losing Chabot sets them back like 4-5 years from contending.

I don't think either team bites tbh. Price too shallow for Ottawa and trading for Chabot is kind of unnecessary for the Rangers because of guys like Fox/Lundkvist/Miller already in the pipeline

Rangers say no. Nothing at all against Chabot, but the Rangers have a bonafide star in Zibanejad. As the team transitions from the rebuild, he's going to be essential in just about every aspect.

Elite D are harder to get than elite F. As good as Zib is, hes older and not as good as Chabot who looks to be the second coming of Karlsson. A more interesting trade would revolve around the 2nd overall pick and Chabot
