I think the big issue is that Podkolzin is seen as a player that is arguably the most NHL ready of any of the prospects in the draft this year. With Veleno, it was more that teams don't see a lot of potential in him, likely not higher than a 3C so he fell. You're title is absolutely right though.. but it's highly not likely he falls that far. I'd be shocked if he fell outside the top 10-12

I wouldn't be surprised if he made it to the early teens solely due to the uncertainty that he's willing to leave Russia

I think if he's still available at #8 then Edmonton should be running to the podium to take him. The uncertainty is there, but Edmonton needs wingers right now and can offer him a spot in the top 9 immediately. Might be enough to persuade him to come over

Doubt he falls to #20 most have him around #13 overall at worst.
