I would leave out the Ottawa trade and the Washington Trade and keep Johnsson. Move a pick with zaitsev to get demelo in return if you can’t fit Johnsson. I would rather move kappy if need be. Johnsson is better.

What need are you addressing by trading Andreas Johnsson? Are you aware that Zach Hyman may be on the LTIR until Christmas, and do you recall what happened to William Nylander's game when he was similarly unavailable this Season?

Can’t operate on such a low cap space for an entire season. A day to day player would need a call up and you wouldn’t be able to do it.

Had a version of this where Johnsson was kept and didn't acquire Niskanen, which worked reasonably well, but did leave the RHD spot pretty thin still. If Demelo is available I totally agree with acquiring him, I'm just skeptical he would be. He's too good and too cheap for Melnyk to give up easily.

I'd prefer to keep Kappy over Johnsson, though it is fairly close in my mind - the tiebreaker for me is that I think Kappy will come in a bit cheaper on his cap hit.

Yeah, I know, it's tight to the cap and so not entirely realistic. Mostly wanted to see what could fit under the cap assuming the ideal RHD targets (Pesce) aren't available (I really can't see Carolina moving him at this stage). As suggested above, more likely that the Johnsson/Niskanen trades don't happen and Dubas goes fishing for a depth RHD instead.
