I don’t get the media getting on Pesce being a trade target. This is not on you, you’re going by ideas from media. Canes are going up, growing, getting better, and Pesce is part of that. He’s not moving.

My only concern is you’re left over cap space, way too little for a full season.

Stop trading for Pesce!!!! He’s not gonna get traded. He has an insane contract he’s young and he’s good. Kadri is a scumbag and Nylanders value is lower than ever plus u added more to the canes side. Delusional

Its less about equal and more about filling needs. For the leafs getting a solid dcore and shedding cap. And for the canes adding offensive players.

Canes's offense is doing quite well. The reality is, Nylander and Pesce is pretty equal trade but doubt Carolina entertains it given the cap hit differences.

Kadri isn't worth TVR, Roy and a 3rd, not even close. So the trade value is way off for Carolina.

Carolina could use perhaps a center or a winger but not necessarily both and they sure as hell aren't giving up Pesce unless it's a solid A player.

If you are worried about Carolina's offensive players wouldn't Johnsson and Kapanen be better fits???

Toronto's cap isn't Carolina's problem to solve.

The strength of the Hurricanes this year has been their defense. Why would they disturb that? If they feel a need for some offensive help, they can make a serious play for some pretty good free agents, without even touching their existing roster. Don't you think being one of the last 4 teams standing in this year's tournament is a powerful drawing card for a UFA looking to take the next step in his career?
