Description
Sekera trade doesn’t need to happen, there is still cap space for him, just thought I’d give room for some younger guys to make the team.

I didn’t re-sign Chaisson! I’ll let some other team over pay for him. He’s a good guy to have, but to me he’s not worth more than 1.5 mil on a 1 year contract.

I picked up Francouz as a backup. He’s been great in the KHL. Similar situation as signing Koskinen last summer. I think he would be a great fit on a cheap contract.

I didn’t really want to add a 1st rounder here, but I think that’s the only way we get Kadri and Kapanen

For me the values are these: Kadri for Larsson, Kapanen for Benson+3rd, Brown for Puljujarvi

Basically Kadri, Kappy, Brown for Larsson, Puljujarvi, Benson and 3rd

The value is probably there but the pick doesn't help them. They would rather get Larson over the 1st and one of the other pieces

If you want others team to pay for Sekera, you'll have to retain like 2-2.5m on his salary. If not, he have a negative value

I don’t think oilers should trade Larsson. The right side is pretty weak. Bouchard isn’t ready to step in as a number one guy. Short of Karlsson or maybe Myers, there really aren’t any high end right shot D that are UFA’s to fill that spot

Leafs are tight for cap space, They are looking to move salary. They aren’t happy with Kadri, can’t afford Kapanen. This would give them a lot of extra space to resign Marner.

but then they still have to sign all 3 of the RFAs you traded them. they don't need depth forwards they need a top 4 RHD

A number 1 pick to use as trade for top rd would be useful to leafs. What about kadri and Brown for the first

If Edmonton offered Kadri and Brown for their 2020 1st, Dubas accepts before Holland can even finish the sentence lol

What has Puljujarvi done over the course of his career to prove he is worth more than Brown? Im curious.

Brown is an overpaid 3rd liner. Puljujarvi is just 20 and has the potential to be so much more. Their values aren't close.

Brown is playing with McDavid if he is on Oilers. Puljujarvi is on bust mode closely. He needs a move and his value is like 3rd round pick not higher due to many risks that come with acquisition of his. Shouldnt have rushed him.. Brown is in value equivalent of Puljujarvi due to his placement in stacked lineup. Puljujarvi could be great after trade but he needs trade.

Brown certainly doesn't automatically get to play with McDavid, that's rubbish. And have you seen Puljujarvi's numbers when playing with McDavid? No way Brown can touch those.

There are literally no risks to acquiring Puljujarvi if it can be done with a pick as you suggest. He'll sign cheap and he's under team control for 4 more years.

Brown does not have equal value to Puljujarvi, that's crazy talk even for a Leafs fan.
