Not realistic.

Green has a full no trade clause until Feb 1, 2020, at which point it becomes a Modified NTC where the Player submits a 10 team no trade list. No player wants to go to Winnipeg.

Svechnikov is waiver exempt for one more year upon having spent all last season on IR. He'll play in the AHL for the Griff's.

Green isn't waiving for Winnipeg, And Trouba wants $7.5 million per. He's not signing for less then $7 million per.

Alright then what would be realistic? I think Cholowski would be a good starting piece in a Trouba trade.

On Svech, yup that would probably be the case but i traded him for Geekie. Geekie played on a line with Ras in juniors, and we need more right shot wingers. They would play for the Griffs next season.

Ok then green isnt waiving. What should i replace green with to make the trade work? Okay then we would try to get him for 7 mil, 250k more, he's worth that in my opinion. Especially on a 6-7 year deal that contract will look good in 3-4 years when the cap goes up.

Odds are that Cheveldayoff will want Veleno+Hronek/McIsaac+Detroit's 2019 2nd for a sign and trade Jacob Trouba say 8 years $56 million Trouba signs for less with his hometown Red Wings. If we deal for him that's probably what it will cost us.

Or we wait one more season when he's a ufa and sign him for free and not give up any young assets or picks?

The rest I'm fine with, I proposed the same svech deal a while back.

Callahan is perfect especially if we can peddle him at the deadline and get another pick for him

Yeah but that just way too much to give up when he potentially gonna be a UFA in a year. At that point just wait it out, He has said that he would like to play for the wings

I totally agree with you, If he really wants Detroit i say stick it out until next summer and sign him for nothing.

I've never seen a quote stating anything other than [paraphrasing] as a kid having grown up in metro Detroit it would be a dream to play for the Wings, but he understands the NHL is a business and he's happy where he is.
All that said Trouba has had huge issues with Winnipeg's management as far as contracts are concerned. That usually means trading a player before his walk year. But Columbus has shown there is another path: do the Jet's embrace that?
Detroit would be wise to make inquires on what it would take. If it is Veleno+Hronek or McIsaac+Detroit's 2019 2nd then it is a hard pass (he's a one year rental). But the media leak would get the message out that he is wanted in Detroit. Just like Tyler Myers and the 2014 and 2015 rumors. I think the Wings might target him. Trouble is Tyler Myers is equivalent to Mike Green when he was signed by the Wings (3rd pair d-man on his old team that will get paid like a #2-3 d-man on the Wings).
