As a Colorado fan I like it but would like to find a way to keep the Ottawa pick out of it.

Vegas will pick 17th I believe so you still end up with 2 first rounders plus better forward depth.

Yeah but 4 overall is a huge difference from 16th. Marchessault is definitely the type of player they need to build the second line, but you have a good chance of getting a franchise changer at 4.

its an interesting trade but I see 0 fit for barrie with Vegas. Its already a bit money tied into that position And barrie doesnt really address a need for them. You had to trade away 2 Dman tied up long term for them already just to fit in Barrie to be on their 3rd pair?

I just forgot to put Barrie on a different pair at the end. He wouldn't be a 3rd pair dman, plus trading Holden isn't a big miss because he only has one more year on his deal and I think Barrie is an upgrade over Miller. Plus Vegas has some good young dmen in the farm system.

you are missing the point. You have to find 2 other trades just to justify another one. Thats why there isnt a fit for Barrie. Then you have to ask Schmidt or Theodore to play on the 3rd pair? It just doesnt make sense my man for Vegas to add a Top 4 RHS Dman in a trade when they have a really good 3rd pairing one in Miller that fits that role perfectly

Could have a Theodore and Barrie top pairing. Then a McNabb and Schuldt/Hague 3rd pairing. I think the D would be fixed then.
