So keep in mind Marleau has a NMC on July 1st and signed a deal to move his entire family to Toronto. His contract is awful but I just can’t see the organization moving him

Severson would be enough, and honestly most Devs fans would say too much. But that's not reality
Marleau would be moved back to SJSs if Shero did this move with retention for something small
If his family is still in Cally they could stay put.
Other way to do us to have Devs buy him out and resign with Tor (is what I think I saw elsewhere)

The Devils would buyout Marleau's contract, leaving him free to sign back with TOR or SJS. This would get his contract off the books for TOR, purely a paper transaction.

The Marleau solution, Leafs trade him after giving him his signing bonus, sending him to Team A which will buy out his contract allowing him to become UFA again, than Team B signs him to a contract and than trades him back to Toronto. Good luck on the NHL of proving collusion on that, unlike that Orpik trade last summer.

Like the Vegas trade, you can probably do it for a 2nd and a 3rd or 4th. Vegas is in cap hell for next season!
