Description
EDITED!!
To...
1. Make the Brown trade better reflect Puli's reclamation project status
2. Deleted Stralman UFA signing and spent some of those Offer Sheet firsts to get Spurgeon out of MIN
3 Reduced Gardiner's salary to lower end of an 8-year deal (assuming 500k hometown discount or attractive bonus structure)

1. See trade for Marner explanation
2. Marleau's looking at season of healthy scratches. Trade him to OTT after bonus is paid and he's owed ~1m. They reach the floor and get to the cap floor. He retires.
3. Zaitsev -- rumors are BUF is doing a lot to rework their defense this summer (trading Risto?). Their dogshhht PK and terrible defense could use Zaitsev, and they improve picks and dump a bad salary in getting him.
4. Use savings to sign Duchene, re-sign Gardiner, add D depth. Altogether is that > then Marner at 11m? Idk. Maybe!

nah, just funny how one cup win makes Caps fans think they're the best franchise is all of sports. Then the next season they go right back to losing in the first round which was the exact thing you were chirping about. & Toronto lost to a much better team than Carolina wink

Did they? And not winning a cup since.........is a lot better when was the last time the leafs made it out of the 1st round? Were you alive? Love how you chirp but at least we won a cup this century ha. Carolina was one of the hottest teams in the nhl. Bruins are losing to the 8 seed haha they beat you guys so ..... yeah by your logic that’s worse. But your a leafs fan so enjoy being average smile. Caps will win a cup again before leafs make it out of the 1st round smile

LOL guarantee that doesn't happen.

& that's why the playoff format is a joke. "Boston is losing to an 8 seed" but is Columbus' roster really a 8th seeded team? They beat one of the best teams in league history so they're no joke. Anyone that thought Boston would walk all over them just because they finished 8th in the conference doesn't know a damn thing about hockey. & yes. Carolina is a lot worse than Boston actually wink

That’s interesting bc the canes look like they will advance and bruins look like they’ll lose in the 2nd round. Haha man you’re on fire today. smile “8th seed” so is cbj not the 8th seed now? Haha you’re exhausting. Are the avs not an 8th seed either? Haha or how does your logic work there?

Lol. Boston has a tougher opponent in Columbus and Carolina has the easier one in the Islanders.. & you're really counting Boston out when they're only down 2-1 in the series? & you're counting the Islanders out when they're only down 2-0 in the series? LOL. If you are, you know absolutely nothing about hockey. Just because a team finishes in 8th, doesn't mean their an 8th seed quality team. Columbus is very well rounded and after they made their deals at the deadline they became even more complete. Wouldn't be a shock at all to see them advance. Not everything is about points and where a team finishes in the standings, that's why there's analytics. But you literally sound like you think you know everything about hockey but don't seem to know anything at all. LOL. So have a good day.

“Pot and kettle” you’re saying Carolina isn’t “good” when they were one of the hottest teams in 2019? NYI had the lowest goals against in the nhl......they are all good teams not just the teams that are playing in the Atlantic side of the playoffs. You contradict yourself a lot.

I never said either team wasn't good. I said Boston is clearly the best team outta those 4. Islanders led the league in defence, yes. But they also have a tough time scoring which is hurting them in playoffs right now. Carolina got on a hot streak, a lot of teams do that. Buffalo won 10 or 11 straight games this year. But you have to look at roster break down to see how good a team really is. Islanders have a hard time scoring because they don't have many proven good goal scorers. Carolina is on a hot streak but their goaltending suggests it won't last long. Now if you look at Columbus' roster, they have a bit of everything so there's a good reason to believe they'll advance. Good top end scoring, balanced depth scoring, defensive play, physical play, goaltending.. so they're not you're typical "8th seed". Seeding doesn't tel a whole lot about a team. LA won the cup as a "8th seed". Do you think they were the worst team that year? Again, you've proven to know nothing about hockey. Please don't respond again and waste my time.

You keep saying not 8th seeds it moronic. Yeah cbj is good but they are riding a hot goalie right now. La won also riding a hot goalie. The habs also did it riding a hot goalie. Wtf cares that Buffalo won 10/11 games that’s irrelevant bc they aren’t in the playoffs. Carolina was easily one of the hottest teams entering the playoffs. Boston being the best team is purely your opinion. You keep saying stuff about hockey knowledge but your the one making purely opinionated statements. Out of the 4 teams Boston is the best. Doesn’t look that way does it ? You are wasting my time. The initial point was that you think caps fans are cocky are winning a cup? Yeah we won a cup. Talk to me when you guys show some sort of progress bc you guys “upgraded” with jt had the same results. Ha WE WON THE CUP YOU. YOU ARE A FIRST ROUND BUST 3x don’t waste my time anymore with your lacking evidence and “rich” opinion base facts

Even the Oiler got out of the 1st round and their gm ruined that franchise haha.

A top 3 team since Jan 1...beat the defending Stanley Cup Champs...and hold a 3-0 lead in the second round. Is it possible that Carolina is better than you think they are?

I never said they were a bad team. I said that you can't judge a team off of where they're placed in the standings alone like the other idiot said. It's no surprise that Carolina is where they are if you look into their underlying numbers. They've been this good for years and just never got the goaltending. Now they're getting saves so it makes sense. I wouldn't be at all shocked if they went to the cup final. I had them going to the final 4 in my bracket anyways so so far they're right on track with how I think they are

Carolina is going to the ecf I guess the caps didn’t lose to a MUCH WORSE team than the leafs huh? Do I still know nothing about hockey since ... I counted the nyi out of it? They were down 2-0 at that time how did the series end? Was i right? Won’t it be funny if the canes win the cup. Maybe you can admit you’re wrong or are you too arrogant?

I’ll drop this if you just say youre sorry and admit you were wrong

I don’t think you understand the meaning of hindsight and grow up? You talked so much so much trash and now that you’re wrong you can’t be an adult and say your sorry and that you’re wrong? You called me an idiot and at the end of the day I was right and you were wrong? Haha get a clue! Love when people like you run your mouth then are wrong and you turtle. Lesson learned you’re not nearly as smart as you think. Maybe in the future think before you run your mouth..... back to the kid table for you
