I don't think he gets 10m. He will be 9 to 9.5m on a long term extension.

That is paying up.. Draisitl makes 8.5m has 311 pts in 350 games. Eichel makes 10m and has 275 its in 285 games. That is what they will use those a scomparison for Mikko who has 209 its in 239 games.. 9.5m range is paying up based on recent contracts. Matthews makes 11m but you can always argue that Cs get paid more than pure wingers

6 years 9.5m is my guess too. I dont think he goes 8 either. I dont think many players will with the CBA coming up, you dont want to lock in to many years of a new contract into a CBA you have no idea what its going to be like

He had a great year last year and was willing to take a long term deal at 5.8-6.2 mill, I think 8.5 will be close to what he gets

Yeah well that was a terrible deal. doughty, kane, couture, kucherov, wheeler, all signed around then and he was willing to go that low. Probably because he realized that hes not millions of dollars better than mackinnon

Ya which is terrible for the team, Matthew's made out great. Leafs buy out 1 year of UFA and it costs them 11.5+ million in cap space, during time they are having cap issues, Matthew's can walk like tavares in 5 years, terrible deal for the leafs as I said

Maybe, but if I'm an owner I let them sit games out rather than sewer my future with big contracts until these guys start winning playoff games, you win me a cup you can have whatever you like, if you dont show up in the playoffs like Matthew's then you get money but not 11.5 mill

Dubas had nylander where he wanted him.. sitting out, almost the whole season they didnt need him, filled his spot with Johnson/ kapanen... then he pulls a bonehead move and gives him more than his original offer
