So you add Lee, Eberle
Subtract Sheary, Sobotka, Scandella

And this somehow gets Buffalo in the Playoffs??? You're dreaming. This team needs a goalie for starters, gonna take a lot more than two wingers replacing two wingers who they're hardly better than.

There was suppose to be ???? at the end of that. You realistically can't turn over an entire roster over one offseason.

I think the Sabres are going to make every effort to sign Skinner. Everything I read suggest they want him and he wants to be there. Sounds like money is the issue but they are in the ballpark. If the Sabres are going to take a step forward Mittelstadt, Nylander and Ullmark have to be the guys leading that charge.

They had a stretch where they played well. They just don't have the depth to sustain it.

Okay, so you agree this team is not good enough to make the playoffs? that looks like another 80-85 point team to me.

I agree with a lot of this. I am fine with swapping out goalies as long as they dont tie up more than 6 million in cap or cost anything resembling a prime asset

I think if the guys I mentioned, Mittelstadt, Nylander and Ullmark take steps forward than yes I do think they are a wildcard team. I would expect Columbus, Carolina and Montreal to all come back down to earth or take a step back next year. That should leave the door open for Buffalo.

I would think Carolina will be just as good maybe even better next year, contingent on goaltending. Columbus I absolutely agree will be worse. Don't see how MTL gets worse. Also if Florida stays healthy and maybe signs Panarin or Bobrovsky or both I have them ahead of BUF

Everything is aligning for Carolina this year, I would guarantee they come back down to earth next year. Too many guys (not young guys) having career years. Montreal has virtually the same team and has jumped from 71 points last year to 88 with 6 games to go. My guess is they regress closer to the mean. Florida could be better but both wildcard slots should be open and Buffalo should have a shot at it if they can take steps forward.

Fair enough, however I think last year MTL was just that bad because Price had an off year. He's back to his normal self carrying the team to playoff contention like he's done for years. I can't see any reason MTL does worse than 90 points next year again.
