Instead of the generic "yeah it'll cost more than that" I'll try to be more fair. Byron as good as he is, and he is a player a lot of teams should want, he is an elite depth player only. Dvorak is only scratching the surface of what he can be but even now he is a top 6 player and a center to boot. For example look at Domi this year on a new team..... No reason to think Dvorak couldn't be similar if given a new chance. Chayka knows this too.
Dvorak may not be worth Mete, Koktakniemi and a 1st round pick, but you best believe Arizona likes this kid a lot and he is pretty darn good. They'll want a similar young player back, not a 30 year old Byron and a 2nd. (Not saying that isn't good value but it isn't the RIGHT value)
The way I see it, players under 26, who are good aren't usually traded for guys older then them. Guys who are usually over 28 but are "good", usually are traded for picks and prospects, not young entering their prime type players.
