So uch Trouba hunt... OK Iyou where close to my suggestion on getting trouba by trade. But: You need to add a first. And a prospect like ex Puljujärvi.
Edmonton wont tade away Lucic retaining that much this year, it will just be a+/- game for them, while loosing Puljujärvi. Retaing 1,0 mil maybe, but then you maybe need to add a smaller prospect or 2 mid picks. I don´t think Boston is the smallest interested in add assets for Lucics salary, even if retained. Just slow. But if it´s 4 mil retained in all, who knows. But I wouldn´t bet on it.

The Trouba trade includes Logan Brown who is one of the top prospects in the league and the Jets move a cap dump in Kulikov which would help them out a lot. Figured the Sens adding a 1st would be overkill.

Lucic to Boston just seems right. He was a fan favourite and if the Bruins could get him at 2 mill without a NMC, I figured they may jump on it.

So, Winnipeg loses two regular Defensemen, and replaces them with a center, and a border AHL defenseman to cover up?. I don´t see that. A quality Dman is going back,a and a 1st.
Like: Logan Stanley, Ceci + 1st rounder if Ceci doesn´t resign, 2nd rounder 2019 + 2nd rounder 2020 for Trouba and Kulikov. Sorry. But if the Lucic/Pulju trade goes thew, I bet winnipeg would reunite Laine and Puljujärvi. So Stanley + Puljujärvi + Ceci signed and retained + 2nd rounder for Truba and Kulikov + 4 rounder could go through.

To be fair Kulikov is a bottom pairing guy at best and he's getting paid well over 4 mill. One of the benefits of this trade is the Jets are dumping cap and not really taking on any in return. But you may be right that the Jets could be able to squeeze a 1st instead of 2nd in a deal like this. But lets not forget Winnipeg can't afford to keep Trouba regardless.

Yes, but you have a joker if you got Pulujärvi. Reuniteing two friends could do wonders for both Laine and Puljujärvi, without taking Lucics contract. Trouba is going to bemissed, and Winnipeg is in WIN mode. They don´t care about capspace as much as quality in players. So if Trouba is gone, he needs to be replaced. Therefore; A good D piece (wich Ottawa wont let go of Chabout or Brännström) + 1 good prospect for Trouba, MAYBE like Stanley (if draftpick - a really high 1 st) + Puljujärvi.

BUT, if you start practicing in beeing very creative with a 3 -team trade, the first and Logan Stanley could be send to ex. Carolina for Pesce and another good piece, DeHaan. But that means Carolina would be short of Dmen. Maybe something is possible there.

We live in a cap era, no choice but to care about cap space. But I get what you're saying about reuniting Laine and Puljujarvi, would definitely be an interesting experiment.

I like your thought process. Maybe the value needs to be adjusted but this is the manner in which a rebuild is completed. As i have stated before, my DATM merely signed players to reach the floor instead of selling cap space, He gave away picks instead of collecting them.

You're picking up what I'm putting down. I'm by no means a Sens fan so my value on these deals may be a bit off but the point I was trying to make is they could easily sell cap space for assets. No shortage of teams going to be in cap trouble this offseason.
GMTD a aimé ceci.
