Don't get me wrong - I like Colin White but I don't think that one full NHL season and 15 or so goals this year is going to get him a $42 million dollar contract.

I really hope these young guys can put on an entertaining show next year and win some games. Somewhere down the road they'll be competitive again. But ultimately they need another top 3 pick next year. Maybe they'll get lucky and Lafreniere will drop in their lap. Building around Brannstrom-Chabot-Lafreniere-Tkachuk is a pretty nice restart for any franchise.

I don't mind the White extension. It's a gamble, but I don't think you want to bridge him. And it's not just about 1 season. He's been improving every year and hopefully, he'll continue to do so.

And I agree, I think the sens did the right thing to blow it up and restart completely. Over the last 10 years, they were way too mediocre (1 good season/1 bad season/ constantly having a middle 1st round draft picks). It's hard to build a championship team that way. The only thing that sucks is not having the 1st round pick this year......
