Description
1.I took this trade from another ACGM's idea with a minor tweak. I really like Armia but this trade just makes sense for both teams.

2.This is purely a cap dump for Tampa and because I have a feeling MTL is one of Callahan's 15 no trade teams it'd have to be agreed that he'd be bought out which would make the price to move him slightly higher then it would be otherwise.

3.Like Tampa the Jets need cap relief. Perrault is still a serviceable player so I put the price of moving him at underachieving prospect Stanley and Laval's skating development coaches go to work on his foot work in hope to make this 6 foot 7 monster an NHL defenseman.

4.Ratcliffe has had a lot of success playing with Suzuki at different levels and I feel he would be a good addition to play with Suzuki in the Ahl next season. Price I figure would be smooth skating Fleury and a 3rd.

5.I left the most controversial for last. I'm still on the fence about trading Drouin being a good idea. Julien and MB will have to sit down and discuss whether his engagement issues are reason enough to entertain a trade of your most talented player at 24. Edm would be a good partner in this endeavor as they need a speedy talented winger to play with McDavid and hope that playing with one of the greatest players on the planet can ignite Drouin's play. For this to work the Habs would need to take on enough salary to cover his cap hit in return, ie Gagner and Manning both cap dumps but with only 1 year remaining. In return MTL moves up around 5 spots or so in the first round, a 2nd the following year, Bear who I hope could become a PP quarter back for years to come and Puljujarvi who is high risk but could be a high reward in the future. Edm also adds a 4th in 2020 and a couple of RFAs in hometowner Kulak and just looking for a chance to play Hudon.

Overall these are all hypothetical and a way for the Habs to continue to retool for the future through taking cap dumps without having to lose too many assets. I believe it's very unlikely MB will make this many deals this offseason.

ALSO IF EITHER THE OILERS OR HABS GET A TOP 3 PICK IN THE LOTTERY THAT DEAL #5 WOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY NIXED.

IMO, Ratcliffe worth more and the Drouin trade, you know, it’s impossible, but not that bad.

Just curious, what would you put Ratcliffe's value at?

Bolts won't include Raddysh in a cap dump, especially if it's toward the Habs.

No team is going to take on almost 6 mill in cap for scraps.

Check the Hossa trade, your asking for too big of a prospect for the cap dump.

Also, you wrote about a buyout, which will be known about by everyone involved in the trade before it happens, so it won't be 6mill off the cap.

Finally, no big prospect is being transfered to a rival team where said prospect could hurt the original team for minimum 5 years in the future.
Well, except if your last name is Bergevin and you feel like acquiring a guy with a bad attitude who only wants to play when he feels like it, only because he speaks french and was born in your team's province.

Wow, I sense a bit of hostility.
If they buy him out they would have to pay him the majority of his contract over the next couple years affecting their cap for 2 years instead of just 1 if he instead agreed to play out his contract.

Difference with the Mason trade is that Armia was acquired at 25, he's done developping and is now the type of player he will be for the rest of his career. Raddysh isn't done and could turn out to be a top 6 forward, where Armia is bottom 6. Armia's skill will hurt the Jets less than the Bolts by Raddysh. Armia is easier to move and replace than Raddysh's potential.

The teams are also a factor, Winnipeg is in a differnt conference than Montreal, so the Jets will see Armia only twice a season, Tampa is in the same division as Montreal, so they'll see Raddysh 4-5 times per season, before counting possible playoff matchups.

Sorry about that, I got a little emotional there. Still mad about the Sergachev trade.

All true, but it is also true that Callahan has 1.7 mill more of a cap hit than Mason did and although Armia was 4 years older than Raddysh is now, it also means that Raddysh is yet to play an NHL game and there have been questions of his skating ability. If not Raddysh a deal to dump that much cap would either be him or a player of close to or equal value.
