I agree that this trade isn't enough, but I do find it funny that Montreal fans (myself included) are prepared to tar & feather Drouin, but when someone dares to suggest he's not worth all that much, we jump on him/her. I guess that's the polarizing aspect of Drouin -- he's so talented and yet so gutless.

I think hes worth quite a haul. Hes young, and signed to a great deal. If Colorado wants him, I ask for their pick say 12-14th overall, Jost or Kaut and a roster player

I don't disagree he's talented, but it's fair to question his utility to any team as long as he keep playing shinny ... badly. If I were an opposing GM, I would think twice about adding him for any price. Remember the adage: fool me once, shame on you (Bergevin seems to have been fooled), fool me twice, shame on me."

A comparison to what Drouin is worth is Alex Galchenyuk, they are exactly the same kind of player, skilled but uncommitted and often deke themselves out before finishing a play.

The pick-up for him most likely will be a 1 for 1, MTL receiving a struggling roster player around the same age as Drouin, just like they received for Galchenyuk.

The proposed trade isn't enough, 2 potential 4th liners (which MTL has enough of) and a potential 3rd pair dman (again, which MTL has enough of) and 2 picks in rounds where they'll screw up anyway. No deal
