I like your optimism but Toronto would want a lot more in return for that first overall pick

Maybe another prospect could help, but lets not overlook a huge add to the Leafs. Korpisalo would be a huge get for Toronto. The Leafs lack quality goaltending. Korpisalo would give them at least 5 years of cheap team controlled goaltending. Something that is not easy to find.

That won't cover it. Not at all. Toronto absolutely needs a franchise center, and Korpisalo, while awesome so far, isn't nearly enough to help cover the difference (and the other guys aren't Toronto needs). There's a lot of decent goaltending options out on the market this year, so we can't really make a compelling sale there.

And Caleb Jones is actually a valuable prospect for Edmonton. While there's some need for RHD depth there, I'd be surprised if they consider that adequate value. (If they do, of course, I'd pounce on it.)

Everybody knows Stamkos is being courted by Toronto so if they got him the need for a center is diminished. Like I said we could give another prospect but that is a very good deal for a team looking to square away their cap. But most of the options are also older and require a substantial amount of cap space. Not sure where your going there.
