it's either they are "all in" OR duchene is there to fill panarin's shoes and they are trading panarin to recoup what they lost for duchene + more while also resigning duchene to a contract that is less of a cap hit than panarin's long term contract would have been.

As a CBJ fan I hope they make this deal. I cannot imagine CBJ can compete with Tampa + with this trade and getting these guys for future would be HUGE for CBJ.

I'd assume it's probably not worth it for nashville. they need panarin more to take them over the top and to keep the pressure on winnipeg/calgary/san jose while also ensuring that winnipeg doesnt make a move for panarin
