too much for zuc. friedman mentioned the ask for him is a 2nd rounder and a prospect which seems fair.

NYR has enough prospects... They will either get a 1st or a 1st plus prospect(s). If not, NYR will resign Zuc .

it's already been widely reported that early in the season zuc was told he will not be re-signed. Friedman was the one reporting the rangers asking price. He's a pretty good source for intel I would say.

Friedman said he made it up... Which really means things can change and Friedman gets as much disinformation as information, if not more.

Then resign him cause nobody is giving you a first and a 22 year old RFA middle 6 forward for a 31 year old 2nd tier UFA rental

Did you read the quote you commented on? It clearly states NYR only wants a 1st round pick because they have enough prospects. What part of that didn't you understand? Why would you then state, "nobody is giving a 1st and 22 year old RFA middle 6 forward.

I'll try to explain again. 1- The asking price for Zuc is a number one pick. 2- If more than one team offers a #1 pick, NYR will accept more picks or a prospect or two from the team that wants Zuc the most.

And yet all you get is a 2nd and a 3rd with unrealistic conditions.

Trades not over, your again premature. Though I would think a site like this would have cured that, oh well. Rumor has it that PIT offered NYR a #1 pick, but was turned down because the thought of Zuc possibly resigning in PIT long term this offseason was just too sickening for most Rangers management to take.

So instead of taking PIT's #1 pick, Gorton played it safe taking instead a 2nd & 3rd with the possibility of both picks becoming a #1. Also if Panarin and Karlsson don't sign in NY this offseason, though that's highly unlikely... Zuc would probably be the next UFA on NYR's list. And the genius of the deal insures Zuc being available to resign as a UFA July 1st if Gorton so chooses, in addition getting draft picks (possibly a 1st & 2nd) as well.

Basically this deal is better for NYR than getting an unconditional number one pick because NYR now has the option to resign Zuc. But rumor has it a first was offered by PIT, but NYR took the best deal which would allow them to resign Zuc if Panarin AND Karlsson don't sign in NY this offseason.

Lol just lol - the return had nothing to do with some half baked conspiracy theory rumour - it was simply the realistic value for the player - which is what I said from the beginning.

Lol just lol, facts mean nothing to you... It's all about being right even though paradoxally you rarely are. Again your wrong... NYR will receive at least one 1st in this trade and also be able to sign Zuc if unable to sign Panarin or Stone.

The trade is not over... NYR will get a 1st round pick or resign Zuc. Sooo NYR actually did better than getting a 1st.

The math proof = 1st round pick < 1st or 2nd AND resigning Zuc. Are you too dumb to know that your gloating about being wrong?

The "and" should be an "or" in the last sentence in paragraph one.

I am the dumb one? This whole discussion started with me saying that no team would give up a first and a middle six RFA roster player for a 31 year old rental winger. And they didn’t. But rather than let it go You essentially are now saying that because NYR, along with 30 other teams, can sign Zucc in the off season (which is the definition of rental player) that is better than a 1st round pick?

The conditions for a first are if the Stars either make the WCF or resign Zucc.

No one believes that Dallas will give up a first to sign a winger who will be 32 when the season starts next year

And the odds of the Stars getting through two of either Nashvile Winnipeg or St Louis in the playoffs are remote at best (but anything is possible)

Yes you are the dumb one and a snooty bit$h as well. You can't even wait until the deal gets done to see how wrong you are. And also quit acting like a scorned little school girl who can't even wait to see if she was right before she starts bragging about how right she one day will be.

Wow. Nice rebutal - this whole thread makes more sense now. - I feel bad - I didn’t realize I was arguing with an eleven year old.

What are you even arguing? The deal is not even complete yet and regardless how it turns out, NYR got a TWO conditional 1st. "So for those who had the Rangers never getting more
than a 2nd, let alone TWO conditional 1st... You lost!" (WW)
