Dumas (and Leafs management) haven't played hardball yet. For some reason they think it's OK to pay a premium for their own RFA. No way Matthews should be the second highest paid player in the league next year, no way should Nylander be about 5th highest paid RWer. And now it's Marner's turn. 8.5m should be about the max as you indicate ....look at the Kucherov and Pasternak contracts as comparables, but for some reason 11m might be the Leafs norm for whatever reason.
