Don't like the Henrique trade. Miller is still a good backup when healthy so the Ducks could just resign him and lose nothing. Also, you don't pay more than a 3rd for a backup anyway, and Henrique is worth more than a 2nd and a 3rd [equivalent backup goalie value]. Also, I wouldn't rush any player from this draft unless it's Hughes or Kakko. If the Ducks get Cozens, it's better to let him develop for at least another year, so they would need to keep Henrique at 3C.

I was pretty excited for the Ducks to bring in Terry and Steel this year, but after the start we had I learned that it's better to develop players than to rush them. That being said, I think the Henrique trade/Cozens call-up could be very feasible in a year or two.

So trading an old winger for picks and a 2C in his prime for a backup and a pick dont signal a rebuild? Its not going to kickstart it, because they dont need to, they just need to accept it

An old backup does nothing to help a rebuild, and you'll be lucky if a 2nd rounder does. A "rebuild" doesn't mean just get rid of anything you can to waive a white flag and send a message that the team is rebuilding. It means get future assets and focus on development instead of short-term success. Henrique can definitely be traded for a guaranteed 1st and/or young prospects, or he can be used to help develop rookies on the Ducks since he is a steady player. Your Henrique trade does neither.
