Wpg pulls a Brian Burke for 2 and 3

Description
WPG after winning the 2nd overall are now ready to contend. Make a couple decent trades and now they're ready to take the Central by storm! The cost to get Hanafin might seem low but is probably accurate. Carolina also has a defensive depth but is thin down the middle and in net. The pick makes up the difference. The CBJ trade seems like a lot but realistically that's what it'd take to get the 3rd overall from them. Hate to loose Comrie but in that trade it's either him or Kyle Connor and looking at CBJ depth they need a good goalie prospect over another winger.

    A backup goalie and a, at best, third line centre for one of the best d prospects in the world?? massive undersell on the third as well. throw in trouba it still probably isnt enough. both aquistions, especially Puljujarvi, have potential to be franchise players, and are very good bets to be elite players. Nobody going the other way is anywhere near that class.(Comrie is good but goalies are very hard to project)

    Yes, it looks like a Brian "The Brain" Burke move when he was Leafs GM. Of course would be the GM of Carolina and Columbus. Terrible for anyone but the Jets.

    I would be ecstatic if the Jets could swing those deals but I fear in both cases it would take more. Jets have loads of prospects and picks to work with so anything is possible. I also wouldn't want both Hutch and Comrie moved. One needs to be the safety net behind Hellebuyck. Phillips is still a couple years out and Pavelec would need to accept a pay cut to stay on as a back-up.

    CBJ doesn't need a thrid line RW and AHL goalie. Start with Scheifele if you want to have a conversation about the third pick...
