no chance of unloading all three of Pavelec, Stuart and Throburn to Calgary for wideman. They wouldn't want any of the 3 let alone all 3 and Stu Thor and Pav much to my chagrin will be on the opening night roster.

Trouba might need a bridge contract to prove he's as good as his agent purports. Don't need a Marc Staal like contract on the books if he regresses.

I'd really like to see Connor and Petan start the year together with the Moose. If they could develop chemistry there, that could be a long-term second line tandem. I could live with a decade of Laine-Scheifele, Connor-Petan and Lemieux-Lowry.

The thinking on that was that it was a swap of bad contracts (Pavelec and Wideman) into areas where both teams have need. I don't think Thorbs contract is a bad one, he just is losing his ice time to a large crop of prospects the Jets have been harvesting. Stuart was pushing my luck. I was still trying to trade him before other teams realized he wasn't as good as he once was. I think he still carries positive name recognition in the league. Might have to be three separate trades but the Jets usually remain loyal to their old warriors.

One advantage Winnipeg, and the Leafs have it too, is having the AHL/NHL club in the same city. Should help with coaching, scouting (other teams) and just the feeling that the minor leagues haven't been forgotten.
IMO Lemieux and Connor should start in the AHL and probably stay there for a long stretch. Much easier to start in the minors then with the Jets and sending them down later.

is it weird i got the most excited for the lemieux -lowry combo?

I also would give trouba a bridge deal at this point.
