Don't think JML will get 4 million from anyone, but this is definitely a mock I could see happening. Scary, isn't it?

This is probably whats going to happen, and seeing it on paper is depressing. Bottom 10, if not 5 team.

I don't think JML is worth $4 million, but if the Bruins are dumb enough to give Loui his 6X6, which he is completely not worth either, then they would be dumb enough to way over pay for JML.
Also, I think they can sign Krug for less- but don't think they would.

If bos is dumb enough for Erikkson at 6X6 then they're dumb enough for JML on a 4X4 contract. Not saying I agree with that thought - just saying if they do the first contract I could see them doing the JML one too

I know everyone hates the idea of Eriksson getting $6 mill per year, but who else could they get to produce 60 points? Maybe over pay on the money per year to get the term down to 5 years?

The top 3 RW's on the market this year are Eriksson, Okposo, and Brouwer. There's really nothing after those three. There's Shane Doan but I don't see him coming to Boston. If the Bruins want to make the playoffs next year, they would need one of these guys playing RW for them. Having Pastranak and Hayes as your top two RW's is not going to get it done. So when you break it down....Eriksson and Okposo average the exact same amount of points per year. Okposo is 28 years old and Eriksson is 31. I think Okposo definitely gets a 6 year term, maybe even 7. Eriksson will most likely get a 6 year term if he goes to the market. Perhaps he would settle for a 5 year term at slightly more money per year? Brouwer's production is way off from Eriksson and Okposo - he's a 40 point guy and he's the same age as Eriksson. So, if you don't resign Eriksson and you miss on Okposo - do you pay Brouwer at $5 mill per year for 4 or 5 years? Brouwer may even go for higher than that as he had a good playoff this year.

Whether you like it or not, the market for 60 point forwards who play 20 minutes a night is $6 mill per year.

I almost want the B's to bottom out and start selling everything. Unless Sweeney pulls off something big their D is set (assuming Krug resigns) and it's not very good at all. It's also the term on the contracts that bothers me as there is no roster space to break in any of the young guys coming up through the system. They need to hit on at least two of Miller, Carlo, Zboril, Lauzon, Arnusson and by hit I mean top 4, 23 minutes/night type of players. It starting to look like the Chiarelli Bruins where low level guys are getting signed to long term. I don't mind K Miller at 2.5 as much as I mind signing a 29 year old 3rd pair D to a 4 year deal. I'm frustrated and rambling.
