Description
G and Staal can't both be dealt with in the same offseason. G is virtually untradeable, and his buyout is less damaging than Staal's, so buy him out. Keep staal and hope he can still be competent playing sheltered minutes. This leaves no spot to resign Yandle, so let him walk. Trade Nash and get two young pieces from Anaheim, the retained salary isn't so damaging, if they want $500k or even $1m more retained, we can handle it for two years. Don't trade for Shatty, we could just sign him next summer if we really want him.

Much more hopeful than realistic. A guy who is 31 and put up 36 points in 60 games, isn't worth a top 4 defenceman and a top 6/9 forward. Not to forget that Silfy scored more goals than Nash anyways. Plus Anaheim is a budget team who is trying to cut costs, which is why they wanted to trade a defenceman in the first place.
