There is no way ferland as a rental gets you a 1st on his own. I had considered adding in Ethan Bear as well to make it more enticing.

Honestly, I wouldn't advocate to any team giving up a 1st for him, but for some reason the hype is pretty big. Maybe he gets a 2nd + so/so prospect, but whatever.

Regardless, just look at what Carolina gave up to get Hamilton. Do you really think that 6 months later, they're going to take a big "L" on that deal AND retain $1.5 mil/year? Doesn't make any sense for them.

if they were able to get his $$ of the books and bring in a decent young dman, a solid young d prospect, puljujarvi to grow with their group ( most critics still expect him to be the top 6 winger who scores ) and a 1st rounder in a deep draft, they would definitely make the move. Faulk won't get them the same value, and Slavin is untouchable, so Dougie is the logical choice to move. The move could move out 1 d they plan to move, and bring in 2 top end forward prospects, and 2 young dmen who can fill out their top 6 without massive costs.
