CBJ side of CBJ deadline Blockbuster

Description
proposed by @arousedcat
Deadline deal. Probably an unrealistic trade, but if Columbus is desperate to win this year and are worried about losing Panarin then maybe they do this.

Trade is only made if we decide to be sellers. Columbus is immediately deeper and gets rid of an underperforming Wennberg to make an all-in cup run while they still have Panarin. The Wild bring in some nice prospects along with a pick and a center who could use a change in scenery.

Trade breakdown:
Zucker for Wennberg and Milano
Staal, Coyle, and Fehr for 2019 1st and Bemstrom

If they're selling and aren't going to resign him, they aren't getting a ton for him. Not that this is the idea trade, but the value is there

The value isn't there. Many of sports analysts say Benn is worth a 3rd round pick all day. If the market was normal, he could fetch a 2nd rounder.

The price for a 3rd pair UFA D man is not a 2nd round pick. You got Benn for Patyern and a 4th, don't believe his value goes up with pending UFA status. I could bump the 5th to a 4th, but that's about the value

First of all, TSN ALWAYS gives more value to players on Canadian teams. Also, the article literally says that "Benn probably wouldn’t net the Canadiens anything more than a third-round pick at this point." So Riley Nash and a 4th or 5th is exactly that value. I'm not saying he even gets traded, but if he does, the value is correct. Move Along

You're trying to defend something that isn't there. Last year everyone was claiming Plekanec was only worth a 3rd round pick (some people even claimed we were lucky if we got a 5th for him) and we got a 2nd + some depth players. The value is incorrect, but as it's your post, and you can't admit that you are wrong, I will move along.

Also how is a 29 YO with 6 points in 47 games + a 5th round pick equal a 3rd round pick? lul

Welp. I tend to agree with the Hockey Analyst's over some random person on the Internet. The article is there to tell you why he is worth a 2nd.

This is my last comment, cause there is no point in wasting my time with Idiots. Just remember me when Benn fetches a 2nd round pick at the TD.

Even at a 3rd round pick, how does your brain take that as "So Riley Nash and a 4th or 5th is exactly that value". Riley Nash wouldn't even get claimed on waivers.

Then your comment is "Same way a 31 YO 3rd pair UFA D-man is worth a 2nd apparently"
When you legit just read the article and it states "That type of asset would traditionally go for a second-round pick around the deadline". Like bud, it's not that hard to read and comprehend what the writing says. Stop being hard headed and accept the fact that you are wrong.

Unfortunately, I can't speak french. Also I would get an infraction because this is an English speaking forum. How about you try in Finnish?

It's a known fact that the price of a player, even a rental sky rockets at trade deadline.
You can argue that all you want but a top 4 defense man right now is costing an arm and a leg. There are reports out there that Muzzin from LAK is a 1st + Kap+ from Toronto.
So to say you couldn't get a 2nd for a 3rd pairing guy is kind of laughable.
There aren't as many good pieces being moved as one might believe. There also isn't a shortage of teams looking for help.
If you were talking about an after season trade for a player with a year of term it would be a different conversation. But now is the time for sellers to gain some capital.
