No Stamkos

Description
Hedman should get 7M easy next year. Johnson, Palat, Paquette, and Boyle all need to be resigned next year as well. It would be close to impossible to fit all of those players in if Stamkos stays unless he takes a salary that starts with an 8. Maybe they will all give a hometown discount with no state tax in FLA. I doubt it. Already proven the team can win without him so spread the cash around and keep the young core intact. Erikkson is no Stamkos but still a very good 2 way player that can ease the sting of losing No. 91. Too many D-men with NTC make it hard to move salary to keep Stammer and be able to re-up all of the young RFAs next season.

      IMO, there is no salary room for Stamkos as you suggest. But I think the Lightning will spend on their own guys instead of reaching out to a high priced UFA like Ericsson. Not having Stamkos has really hurt them in the playoffs so far hasn't it?wink

      dont think this is too far out there, eriksson may ask for a little bit more than that. if they can get rid of coburn maybe that money would be used to lure in another defence as opposed to a big free agent winger though.
