Trading Bob and Panarin

Description
NYR and CBJ swap UFAs. NYR get a chance to sign Panarin to an 8 year deal in which he desires. CBJ get Hayes who helps strengthen the middle of the ice.

Ottawa gets a boatload of players and picks to stock this team. Both Duchene and Stone are UFAs to be and likely won't sign back anyway. CBJ get Stone and Duchene to make a push for the cup.

St Louis needs a goaltender in the worst way. They are down in the standings but they have enough skill in the forward dept and on defense to possibly make the playoffs but this trade would need to happen soon Eric rather than later. Jackets get Allen who could use a change of scenery and a couple of really good prospects. Jackets retain on Bob to help with the cap.

All in all these are gutsy trades but have a chance to pay off for each team.

Note: St Louis trade includes Bob signing long term

Just not worth it for the blues to give up two top forward prospects for a rental in a losing season. And even if we sign him long term, why trade bokk and kyrou for 4 extra months on an already dead season

The Rangers would be stupid to pass on a chance to sign Artemi early at only the cost of Hayes. It's not a guarantee he goes to them.

Columbus could get more back selling him as a rental elsewhere though.

Panarin is going to FA without a doubt so getting him through that makes the most sense than giving up essentailly a 1st rounder and more as that is hayes value. If panarin was going to play for nyr waiting to FA wouldnt affect anything as they wont be making the playoffs this year.

Having an extra fee months to negotiate am extension with him without anyone else being allowed to talk to him is a massive advantage. They could potentially sign him to a deal with a lesser cap hit.

Not really. Bob is going to want Cary Price money. The Blues need a top goaltender. They can't win without one and this year proves it. The Jackets would at least get some valuable prospects back. Allen still has skills but the Blues defense is not as strong as the Jackets. Allen may be able to regain his mojo here. Stone and Duchene would be great moves for the Jackets. Both would really strengthen our offense. Panarin for Hayes sounds terrible but really at this point it's either prospects or an UFA swap. The Jackets would have a better chance of signing Hayes. Don't understand why you say these are awful

Once again bad deal for NYR, because this is all possibilities while gaining assets, are a gaurenteed even if the rookies done always pan out but thats why its better to have multiple ballots in the hat than just one. NYR pass they will attempt panarin in the offseason otherwise he wont come to NYR.

Because Panarin for a 1st and prospects is better than even an extended Kevin Hayes. That one is a no-brainer. Also giving up a ton for Stone and Duchene, both UFAs, neither likely to sign here. STL one has merit, but there's no way the Blues do that.

Creative. If this were to happen I don’t think many Columbus fans would complain. But I think one of, if my both, Duchene/Stone would need to be re-signed.
