he could have settled it in that very same game tbh after the ZAR hit, oleksiak challenged him during that game. pens were already down a forward and wilson could have taken a oleksiak off of the ice for 5 minutes so i don't really see why he wouldn't or couldn't have settled it then and there, instead of dragging it into a new season where it just has less meaning. now we have to wait until march to play each other again which is complete garbage
