You don't seriously think the Leafs won't protect Dermott do you? If anyone will go, it is likely Brown.

I was playing around with this yesterday and I find it hard to see a situation where Seattle won't take a D man from Calgary, they will have to protect Hanifin, Valimaki, Andersson, leaving Kylington, potentially Hamonic or Brodie and Giordano. Gio would be in the last year of his contract and if he is playing at half the level he is now I think he would be a perfect one year deal for an expansion team.

gotta think leafs will aquire a new top 4 d man by 2021 and they will protect rielly, zaitsev and pietrangelo/parayko/muzzin or whoever they get

u probably right but giordano is most likely figuered theyd trade the others to get something before they let em go in expansion draft

trying to predict an expansion draft that is 3 years away is a waste of time

I seriously doubt they protect Zaitzev over Dermott, who projects as a top 4 Dman and Babs has been slowly (oh so slowly) transitioning him to Rielly's right.
