What is so funny about that? Pietrangelo is top-10 defender in the league. He is great on both ends of ice and is solid and smart in tight defensive situations..

I mean Karlsson only got Demelo, Tierney, Norris, Balcers, a 1st, and a 2nd (as well as 2nd if he resigns or another 1st if he is traded again to an EC team) sooooo the blues arent getting Nylander back in return or dubas should be fired...and before you say "but karlsson was an upcoming UFA" youre getting at most 1.5 years of Pietrangelo guaranteed so youd probably get a better prospect than rasanen such as bracco or you might get kapanen instead of johnsson but youre not getting nylander back in a pietrangelo deal

I think the Blues hold more leverage than the Sens did with EK. Other than this current distraction, its is pretty clear that Petro would get an extension and play out his career in STL like Doughty, Burns, etc. EK was gone and everyone knew it so they didnt get any huge offers.

I doubt it would be Nylander but I think the return would have to include one of Lilje or Sandin for the Blues to consider it - someone with enough upside to justify moving Petro, who we could just as easily keep as our top guy for 2+8 yrs.

Yeah for sure! I do agree they do have more leverage, they definitely dont need to move him, and they would need to get at least 1 blue chip prospect back (liljegren or sandin) in a larger package but to suggest that nylander needs to be apart of a package for pietrangelo is kind of ridiculous in my opinion

yep I think if the blues want the conversation to shift toward nylander then the counteroffer shifts toward parayko and then the deal erodes...
