Description

would be willing to give up a first instead of the second to get pesce with the salary retention. also with nylander if he were to sign a 6x7 the aav for year one would be inflated to 8.7mil but years 2-6 would come down to a smooth 6.7. also once marleau is off the books the following year that opens the team up to being able to make a splash. open to constructive comments i believe all signings were reasonable and apparently leafs havent offered nylander a 6x7 so thats a possibility for him to sign.

if you read the description the deal is 6 years 7 million but because the deal is like 20 games into the season the first year is infalted to (about 8.7) and years 2-6 are approximately 6.7

Isn't that the main reason why you become a professional athlete? It's not like Nylander is from Toronto and has loyalty to the team. Not to mention his dad played for like half of the league through his career.

True, but at some point you play because you want to play . . . to compete and prove yourself. There's an old joke in Hollywood about Errol Flynn saying "I'm not an actor . . . I'm a MOVIE STAR!" Maybe Nylander isn't a hockey player . . . he's a professional athlete.
