Nah. OTT isn't really interested in Saad in my opinion. They're looking for good prospects for those two potential rental players.

Have to add something better then Wideman. We don't need him. I think Saad, Murphy, Sikura, Forsber plus a 1st is really solid for Duchene, Dzingel, and a 3rd or 4th.

Value-wise that offers isn't that bad, but a part of rebuilding is to get rid of salary. In this trade, OTT would take more salary in the team than they'd lose. Saad+Murphy are much worse duo than Duchene+Dzingel, and they're also more expensive.

And especially if the gm of the team is Eugene Melnyk, who loves money...he won't spend it.

Both Saad and Murphy have 3 and 4 seasons left. OTT will need to reach the cap floor during that transition rebuild period so they need some decent salaries. That said paying Duchene $7.5M and Dzingel $4M, which is what they will likely resign for, is $11.5M versus Saad and Murphy for under $9.8M. Hawks could also retain $500K on Saad.

I think the Sharks say no to that.
